CCPO orders strict implementation of 'one dish' rule

The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervaz Rathore has directed all the police officers to strictly implement the 'One Dish' rule at marriage ceremonies. He said that if anybody violates this rule in Lahore, the concerned SDPO and the SHO would be suspended.
In a circular order, the CCPO directed all the police officer to ensure the implementation of the directions of Punjab Chief Minister regarding one dish on the eve of marriage ceremonies. The host, Marriage Hall and the caterers would be responsible for any violation and if found guilty, the violator has to pay Rs 1-5 lakh or one- month imprisonment or both can be inflicted.
Further, he directed the police officers to arrange a meeting with marriage hall owners to brief them about the implementation of 'One Dish' rule. The CCPO further said that one dish includes one main course like rice, roti or naan with one dish of sweet along with refreshment. He said that Lahore Police have registered 17 cases arrested 19 violators so far.
Rathore further directed that certain action should also be taken to ensure enforcement of law of extra lighting, fireworks and firing in marriage parties. He said that there is no room in Police department for such officials who are negligent in the implementation of the rule. He made it clear that legal action might be immediately taken over any information received from the people in this regard without any discrimination of status or authority.
