Government starts consultation with Fata elders

State Minister for Interior Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi said on Sunday that government has started consultation process with tribal elders of Fata to know their viewpoint in restoring peace in the region.
He said that many proposals were under consideration for resolving issues in amicable manner, adding President himself was holding talks with tribal elders to evolve consensus and settle the issue in the best manner.
The minister said role of local MNAs, Senators and Ulema was key to find ways and means for improving law and order issue. He said innocent people were suffering at the hand of few miscreants hiding in the region, adding situation would be under control in Bajaur and Mohmand Agency by the end of December. The minister said a committee of FATA MNAs was being formed for monitoring distribution of funds among the displaced people.
