Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani has directed the concerned officials and project directors to complete the ongoing Singhar and New Town housing schemes as per standard within the stipulated time in Gwadar port city.
The CM issued the directive while presiding over a meeting of board of directors of Singhar and New Town Housing Schemes held in Gwadar on Sunday. He further directed them to correct irregularities and flaws committed in the past during carrying out work on the housing schemes in Gwadar.
The CM said that ban was imposed on allotment of residential plots of these housing schemes due to illegal allotments and the government would lift the ban after regulating all affairs of the schemes in line with the laws and regulations. He said that allotment of plots would be made only in accordance with the law and rules in the future in Gwadar.
The CM directed District Coordination Officer (DCO) Gwadar Noor-ul-Amin Mengal to regulate in accordance with the law, the maps of the housing schemes in the port city.
Earlier, briefing the participants of the meeting about the housing schemes, the DCO Gwadar said that Singhar housing scheme measuring 1,900 acre of land have four phases with 6,750 residential plots while the fifth phase of the project was under consideration, adding development work on the housing scheme had so far been completed at cost of Rs 240 million. He informed the meeting that New Town Housing Scheme was extended on 1,500 acre of land having four phases with 7,004 residential plots. The DCO said that the government was setting up water filtration plant while establishing streetlights was under consideration in Singhar housing scheme in the port city.
District Nazim Gwadar Abdul Ghafoor Kalmati, Director General Gwadar Development Authority Muhiddin Marri and other concerned officials also attended the meeting.
