Commodities mixed on wholesale markets

Commodities wholesale markets stayed during the week ended on December 20, 2008, as black pepper, cardamom, and isbaghol bhoosi depicted downtrend while wheat and cottonseed cakes showed uptrend.
Black pepper Singapore conceded Rs 100 to Rs 9,900 and from Brazil was down Rs 400 to Rs 10,200. Mace was quoted at Rs 32,400; big cardamom was down at Rs 11,800; dry ginger China was down by Rs 200 to Rs 5,900; isbaghol bhoosi retreated by Rs 500 to Rs 18,500, cumin seed was down Rs 200 to Rs 7,600; and darchini was down by Rs 100 to Rs 4,400. Wheat was higher by Rs 75 to Rs 2770 while better was higher at Rs 2785.
Cottonseed oilcake new better type with bag Sindh rose by Rs 10 to Rs 820. Irri-white closed higher by Rs 50 to Rs 1600, sugar lost Rs 50 to Rs 3100, better lost Rs 80 to Rs 3220, gur low type gained Rs 100 to Rs 2700, while better stayed unchanged at Rs 3400. Makai scaled down to Rs 1650 and better to Rs 1675, Juwar was down to Rs 1550, wheat old with bardana stayed at Rs 2770 while better type was lower by Rs 70 to Rs 2715.
On Wednesday, plastic mouldings showed many changes. Plastic moulding compound (per Lb) HDPE film Saudia 952 closed down by Rs 15 to Rs 43, Mobil shed Rs 15 to Rs 43, and TR 144 ended lower by Rs 12 to Rs 43, HDPE injection sabic 200056 shed Rs 2 to Rs 68, Mobil 016 down by Rs 2 to Rs 45 and Iran shed Rs 3 to Rs 44, HDPE blow Kuwait ended lower by Rs 8 to Rs 47, Marlex, shed Rs 6 to Rs 47 and Iran retreated by Rs 3 to Rs 46, LDPE 374 closed down Rs 12 to Rs 53, MGG 20 went down to Rs 5 to Rs 70, MG 70 ended down by Rs 10 to Rs 70, LLDPE W118 retreated by Rs 6 to Rs 50, 7078 ended lower by Rs 6 to Rs 50, and Sabic 500026 closed down by Rs 15 to Rs 60, polypropylene film Thai ended down by Rs 5 to Rs 45, and Kuwait down by same amount to Rs 45, and Indian was also loser by Rs 5 to Rs 45, Polypropylene tape grade Indian gained Rs 3 to Rs 43, Kuwait was higher by Rs 3 to Rs 43, and Saudia retreated by Rs 3 to Rs 43, Polypropylene injection grade Saudia turned higher by Re 1 to Rs 43, India up Re 1 to Rs 43 and Kuwait also turned higher by same amount to Rs 43, polyester Pak was quoted at Rs 2315 Copoly Block turned lower by Rs 2 to Rs 58, and Randon was down by Rs 2 to Rs 68, and high impact (per bag) Pak quoted at Rs 2440, ABS Polylac 707 quoted at Rs 4400 and Iran was quoted at Rs 4375. On Thursday, following changes were noted in jute goods: Twine (per kg): 20x3 brown edged up by Rs 2.50 to Rs 55, 16x3 CRT/Indus went higher by Rs 2.50 to Rs 55, 8x3 moved upward by Re 1 to Rs 85 and 40x2 brown closed higher by Rs 2 to Rs 50.
Pineapple (per carton) Polac was quoted at Rs 1,175.
On Friday, following changes were noted in Ceylon raw rubber (per lb) Merryrub (equivalent to RSS 3) closed higher by Rs 4 to Rs 59, RSSV edged up by Rs 6 to Rs 61, Merryrub (equivalent to crape) was higher by Rs 10 to Rs 65 and pale crape TPC3 finished down by Rs 10 to Rs 65.
Latex Mrrytax (25 kg) ended lower by Rs 40 to Rs 500, Semnan Tex edged down by Rs 40 to Rs 500 and Thai (GT) went lower by Rs 40 to Rs 500.
On Saturday following changes were noted in Chemicals (per kg): NJ Taiwan ended lower by Re 1 to Rs 164, formic acid Germany moved down by Rs 3 to Rs 120, oxalic acid China ended lower by Rs 2 to Rs 74, and citric acid China closed down by Rs 7 to Rs 80. Petroleum jelly sulphonic acid soft ended higher by Re 1 to Rs 149, sulphonic acid hard was quoted at Rs 147, and PVA Japan moved higher by Rs 3 to Rs 245. Hydrosulphate China 88 percent went up by Re 1 to Rs 96, Germany closed lower by Rs 2 to Rs 168 and India edged downward by Rs 2 to Rs 92. Acetic acid Taiwan moved higher by Rs 4 to Rs 90. Hydrogen peroxide (35 percent) Taiwan finished down by Rs 2 to Rs 38, Korea went lower by Re 1 to Rs 40 and Thailand moved downward by Rs 10 to Rs 40.
Cereals: wheat old and new Bardana rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2725-2740, and gur gained Rs 200 to Rs 2900-3600. On the gram side, bajra was higher by Rs 125 to Rs 1650-2350. On the seeds side, cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh new low type was higher by Rs 35 to Rs 835 and good type was up by Rs 20 to Rs 840. Rice Irri-9 Sindh old low type shed Rs 200 to Rs 3800 and superior type lost Rs 500 to Rs 4000 and Irri-9 Sindh new low type went up Rs 200 to Rs 3200 and better type moved up Rs 100 to Rs 3300.
