The northern areas of NWFP witnessed Earthquake tremors at 3.38 am, creating panic among the people, who rushed out of their homes for safety, private TV channel reported. According to met office, the intensity of the earthquake was recorded 4.7 on Richter scale emerging from Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region. The earthquake tremors were felt in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Gilgit and Baltistan. However, no loss of life and property was reported.
