Incomplete projects: construction firm in AJK put on notice

A division bench of Islamabad High Court here on Monday directed National Construction Limited to submit reply over refunding of amount paid to it in advance for the implementation of a network of projects in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Barrister Masroor Shah, counsel for Government of AJK, apprised the bench that an amount of Rs 138 million was earmarked for construction of roads, hospitals and other government offices in AJK and an agreement in this regard was reached with the National Construction Company in the year 2003. The amount was paid as 'advance mobilisation' and this public money was not spent on public schemes, he added. He said that incomplete projects had hampered development in AJK.
