Polish central bank surprises with 0.75 basis points rate cut to 5.0 percent

The Polish central bank cut its key lending rate by 75 basis points to 5.00 percent on Tuesday, exceeding expectations that it would cut by half a point. The bank cut all its main rates by 75 basis points.
The main interest rate, the minimum bank intervention rate, fell to 5.00 percent, the discount rate to 5.25 percent, the Lombard rate to 6.50 percent and the deposit rate to 3.50 percent, the bank said in a statement after a regular monthly policy meeting.
