Sub inspector suspended

The Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi, Nasir Khan Durrani has suspended Sub Inspector (SI), Liaqat Ali for giving undue favour to an accused involved in murder case. A citizen of Rawalpindi, Ghulam Murtaza submitted an application before the RPO pleading that the SI of Gujjar Khan is giving undue favour to the accused party and giving false statements in the court with an ulterior motive.
He said that the officer is trying to damage the murder case registered under FIR No 141, dated 18-10-2004 under section 302/34 PPC. The RPO conducted the inquiry through Police Complaint Authority (PCA), which after thorough enquiry found the SI guilty of charges and recommended for departmental action. Under the recommendations of the inquiry committee, the RPO suspended the officer and issued show-cause notice to him for major punishment.
