The provincial capital is in the grip of cold wave and foggy weather on Friday, which would persist for the next few days. According to the meteorological department here on Friday, continental air is likely to prevail over most parts of the country during next few days, which was causing this weather.
In the provincial capital, the minimum temperature recorded was 4 Celsius degrees and maximum temperature was 21 Celsius degrees. They forecast cold and dry weather in most parts of the country and foggy conditions likely in the plains of Punjab. Dry weather with cold wave conditions is expected in most parts of Balochistan during next few days.
In NWFP, Kashmir including quake affected areas and Northern Areas, cold and dry weather is expected during next few days. However, cold and dry weather with foggy morning is expected in most parts of Sindh during next few days.
Meanwhile, the foggy conditions have driving difficult in the provincial capital and experts have cautioned them to drive carefully. They should obey fog-related warning signs, slow down before you enter fog, use low-beam headlights and fog lights for best visibility even in daytime, and be alert for other drivers who may have forgotten to turn on their lights.
"The drivers should watch for vehicles on the side of the roadway. Seeing taillights or headlights in front of you may not be a true indication of where the road is ahead of you. The vehicle may not be on the road at all. Use roadside highway reflectors as guides to determine how the road may curve ahead of you and also, avoid passing other vehicles. Don't stop along the side of the road, unless absolutely necessary," they added.
