Army to be called to maintain peace during Muharram

Keeping in view the prevailing situation Pakistan Army would be called to maintain peace and security as well as to avert any untoward incident during the holy month of Muharram-ul-Harram. This was stated by City Police Officer Rao Muhammad Iqbal Khan while addressing a press conference here on Friday.
Besides, Superintendent Police investigation Rana Shahid Mehmood, Chief Traffic Officer Raja Rifat Mukhtar and officials were also present on the occasion. CPO Rao Muhmmad Iqbal said that Pakistan Army would also be called to maintain peace and security on Muharram-ul-Harram saying that security has been tightened on the eve of 1st death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
He said that law-enforcing personnel would be deputed to keep an eye on suspicious elements CPO was of the view that terrorists do not want peace and stability in the country. Special security measures have been adopted in this regard and no one would be allowed to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere, he maintained.
