Lawyers to continue struggle for restoration of deposed judges

Lawyer community is committed to upholding struggle for the restoration of deposed Chief Justice Supreme Court Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary along with his other fellow judges. These views were expressed by newly elected President District Bar Association (DBA), Attock Advocate Sardar Imtiaz Khan.
While talking to the local media persons after his taking over the office as president of DBA, along with Advocate Saqib Shah Mehmood Zaib and Advocate Malik Sajjad Ahmed Rafique as finance and library secretaries, respectively on Friday. He said the sacrifices of lawyer community would ultimately bring fruit and there would be a complete rule of law in the country.
He said the country's institutions could only be strengthened if justice was allowed to prevail over in the country. The candidates for the three posts were elected unopposed in the election held at the District Bar office here on Wednesday. However, the elections for three remaining posts of secretary-general, joint-secretary and vice-president will be held on January 3.
The lawyers also elected a 10-member executive committee, which comprises Ameer Afzal, Safdar Ali Malik, Malik Abdul Malik, Muhammad Sher Bahadur, Muhammad Sadiq, Malik Shafqatur Rehman, Malik Muhammad Shafique, Syed Adnan Shabeer, Syed Tasawar Hussain and Ahmed Nawaz.
Malik Israr and Syed Muhammad Tariq are in the race for the slot of general secretary; Raja Aftab and Mujahid Kazmi have filed nominations for vice-president's office and Maqsood Ahmed, Malik Tahir Akram and Zulfiqar Ali Khan for joint-secretary's post.
