19 people, who went missing in snow-clad Kargil area of occupied Kashmir last week, have been located, said a report reaching here on Friday from across the Line of Control. The report said that some rescuers were called out to different locations and they succeeded in spotting the missing people, who had taken shelter inside a PWD hut between Rangudum and Parkachik.
All of them were in fine the report said adding that they were provided with food and water by the teams including skiers. However, they waited for their safe airlift but it was not possible due to the adverse weather conditions.
Till Thursday, the stranded people were anxiously waiting for food packets, medicines, firewood and blankets at the site so that they could save themselves from chilling temperature, which dropped to minus 40 degree Celsius, the report revealed.
Due to chilli weather conditions, at-least six-feet of snow had accumulated in the area where the hut was located and the stranded passengers were not airlifted till late Thursday, the report concluded.
