Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto has left deep footprints of her democratic leadership in the sands of history, said a good number of students while paying tribute to the daughter of the East in a survey conducted by Business Recorder. Responding to a pertinent question as how they think of a great leader like late Benazir Bhutto on her first death anniversary, the students said.
"Our government should benefit from her vision and legacy since she wanted to make Pakistan a true democratic and progressive Islamic state." "A great leadership like Benazir Bhutto is a beacon of guidance for young generation of Pakistan and her dedicated efforts for the wellbeing of people of Pakistan would keep on aspiring many for centuries, said Salia Rana, a student of Mass Communication at the University of the Punjab.
"She was a world-renowned politician, a caring mother, a loyal wife and a very able daughter of a great leader," said another girl student, adding: "Above all, she was a spiritual lady from within." "This is high time to materialise BB's vision of a progressive and liberal Islamic state" said Sana Eyyaz, another student from the department of Political Science.
Ms Qammer Shaheen, Chairperson of Women Welfare Organisation, said Benazir Bhutto's sacrifice will bring desired results and it is the responsibility of youth to follow her footsteps with devotion. Only the continuity of democracy will ensure her dreams come true and the young generation has the ability to materialise this dream, she added.
She added Ms Bhutto was the most popular leader of Pakistan, as she was the only women Prime Minister of Pakistan as well as the first ever woman ruler in the Islamic world. She was a born leader and she achieved the highest echelon at the very early age out of her love for poor masses of Pakistan. She was a charismatic leader, dedicated to her mission of uplifting poor masses. Both her supporters and opponents are mourning over her tragic death, a great loss.
Asifa Nazeer, a student of Mass Communication added that Benazir Bhutto laid down her life for the cause of democracy in Pakistan. She was killed in her struggle against the enemies of Pakistan and she was a brave lady having the courage to face the challenge from the front.
