The US Agriculture Department said that it bought 16,310 tonnes of US hard red winter wheat for donation to Uganda and Malawi. The purchase was valued at $4.0 million. The US agency bought 7,000 tonnes for Uganda from Louis Dreyfus Corp at $245.17 per tonne FOB for shipment from Houston, Texas.
USDA bought 9,310 tonnes from Kalama Export Co at $247.82 per tonne for shipment from Kalama, Washington. Delivery to vessel for both cargoes is January 5-15.
