The Ministry of Human Rights, under the provision of Section-6 of Women in Distress and Detention Fund Act, 1996, has appointed 19 members of Board of Governors for a period of three years with effect from January 1, 2009 to December 31st, 2011.
The Ex-Officio members include Federal Minister for Human Rights as Chairman, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Human Rights as Secretary and Secretary, Ministry of Human Rights, Secretary Ministry of Interior, Secretary, Ministry of Women Development, Home Secretary, Government of Punjab, NWFP, Sindh and Balochistan as members of the board, said a notification issued here on Monday.
While By-Name members include Asma Arbab Alamgir, MNA, Senator Afia Zia, Sajida Mir, MPA (Punjab), Naila Muneer, MPA (Sindh), Perveen Azad MPA (Sindh), Maryam Javaid Gandapur, MPA, (NWFP), Noureen Hayder Khan MPA (NWFP), Ruqaia Saeed Hashmi, Provincial Minister Balochistan and Raheela Durrani, Provincial Minister Balochistan. The Board of Governors, shall perform functions and exercise powers under the provision of Section-7, read with Section-9 and 10 of the said Act, as amended time to time.
