LHC moved against sale of hazardous milk

Watan Party has moved a writ petition in the Lahore High the Court seeking ban on sale of milk hazardous to human consumption. The petitioner, Dr Yaqoob Bhatti, a central executive member of Watan Party referred to a report of the City District Government had revealed that 80 percent milk supplied to the consumers, who are mostly senior citizens, young people and babies, is poisonous.
This liquid is also causing deaths among consumer, as 17, 529 out of 19,718 samples were found adulterated. He said that tainted milk is being sold since last many years in Pakistan and nobody had ever taken concrete steps to stop this menace. Further, he said this adulteration is being done to convert 1kg of milk into four kg by adding melamine and water.
