LDA removes encroachments

Lahore Development Authority (LDA) accomplished the task of removing encroachments along Moulana Shoukat Ali Road from Jinnah Hospital to Akbar Chowk, here on Tuesday. The staff of the Lahore Development Authority demolished the remaining 35 platforms that had been constructed in the front line of showrooms and offices, in contravention of building regulations, along Moulana Shoukat Ali Road.
The staff of the Lahore Development Authority also removed scores of other infringement during the jointly carried out operation which was participated by the officials of the Estate Management Directorate and Town Planning Wing of Lahore Development Authority as well as representative from Water and Sanitation Agency.
All these encroachments were causing impediments in movement by pedestrians, flow of traffic as well as quick disposal of storm water from the market. Lahore Development Authority has urged residents of its schemes' area for voluntarily eliminating all encroachments without further delay, failing which they will have to bear the demolition charges as well. The encroachers will also be dealt with under sections 33, 34 and 40 of LDA Act 1975.
