Government taking steps to provide equal educational facilities for all: minister

Federal Minister for Youth Affairs Shahid Hussain Bhutto has said that the present government is making concrete steps to provide equal educational facilities to the youth in urban and rural areas for their development and prosperity in education sector.
Speaking at the award distribution ceremony to the winners of National Youth Essay Writing Competition-2008 organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Minister said that it is regrettable that youth of rural areas are not provided facilities in education as compared to the urban area.
Shahid Bhutto said that the previous governments did not pay any heed to the education of the youth. He said that the 27 percent ratio of youth ranging from 15-30 years of the total population cannot be ignored as the future of the country depends on the new generation.
The Minister announced that present government has evolved a national youth policy which is to be approved next year for the welfare of youth as envisioned by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. He said that 100 youth development centre would be set up throughout the country for the betterment of the youth including provision of library, technical training centres, hostels and computer system.
He further said that 624 children took part in the essay writing competition and appreciated the talents of the students who write the best essays. Later on the Minister distributed awards to the best students of the essay writing competition. Federal Secretary Ministry of Youth Affairs, Ashfaq Mehmood and Senior Joint Secretary Nadeem Baig also addressed the function.-PR
