Sheikh Rashid calls on Zardari

Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad held a luncheon meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari here on Friday. The President discussed the political situation with him and said that the PPP was keen to take along all political forces of the country.
The meeting with Sheikh Rashid was part of the government agenda to talk to every political force and take its input for taking future line of action. When contacted on telephone, Shiekh Rashid Ahmad said that it was general meeting. He said that he listened carefully to what President Asif Ali Zardari spoke. "I had nothing to say. I was invited and I had to attend the meeting," he added. The former minister said that there was general discussion on the overall situation especially in the context of Pak-India tension arising after the November 26 Mumbai attacks. He said the president gave a detailed account of PPP plan to overcome the challenges being faced by the country. The president also expressed his resolve to curtail unemployment and reduce poverty in the country, he said.
