A high level meeting regarding the maintenance of law and order during Muharram in DI Khan was held at commissioner office DI Khan with Deputy Speaker National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi in the chair. Commissioner DI Khan Muhammad Humayun Khan, DIG Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad, DCOs and DPOs of DI Khan and Tank districts attended the meeting.
Deputy Speaker was apprised of the measures taken by the administration to create harmony among the religious sects and maintenance of law and order situation and an emergency plan to cope with the uneven law and order situation.
Deputy Speaker National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and directed the concerned authorities to take stern action against the lawbreakers to maintain the peaceful environment during Muharram in the region.
Addressing the meeting, he said that present government gives top priority to law and order situation as harmonious and peaceful environment is the milestone of the progress, developmental and business activities.
He directed the administration to keep close watch on the activities of the doubtful persons and terrorists elements, which are bent upon to disturb the peaceful environment of the area and keep close liaison with various sections of the society to get the confidence of the masses and distort nefarious designs of anti-state elements.
He also directed the Wapda authorities to exempt urban and rural areas of DI Khan during night in Muharram. Earlier District Police Officer, Tank, Attiqullah Wazir and DPO DI Khan Nasir Mehmood Sathi briefed the Deputy Speaker about the security arrangements. Deputy Speaker expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.
