No one can expel me from PPP: Safdar Abbasi

05 Jan, 2009

Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) leader Senator Safdar Abbasi has said no one could expel him from PPP. Addressing a press conference at the residence of Abdul Qadeer, Secretary General of ARD here on Sunday, Safdar Abbasi criticised the statements of the Punjab Governor Salman Taseer and said he should play his constitutional role as his statements are harming the democracy.
"People have given mandate to PML-N and therefore it should be honoured", he urged. He urged the government to expose the killers of Benazir Bhutto because the workers of PPP are not satisfied with investigations, carried out by the previous government and Scotland Yard Team.
Former Secretary to Benazir Bhutto, Naheed Khan was also present on this occasion. "The country is victim of instability and it is need of the hour to strengthen all the institutions for its stability and the elected representatives should resolve the public problems", he remarked.
PPP's Senator said the government has completely failed to resolve the economic crisis. He advised the government to assign the issue of deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry to Parliament so that it could take final decision in this regard. "We are the part of caravans of Benazir and will take it forward and are guardians of BB's political legacy", he said.
