Tight security measures taken during Muharram: Kaira

Provincial Finance Minister Tanveer Ashraf Kaira has said that tight security measures have been taken for maintaining law and order situation during Muharram in all parts of the Punjab. In order to monitor overall law and order of the province a special control room has been established at Provincial headquarter he disclosed.
Addressing a meeting to review the security arrangements for Muharram held here late last night he said that nobody would allowed to disrupt the peaceful environment and sectarian harmony during the holy month of Muharram in the Punjab.
The Minister called upon the religious scholars and leaders and, Ulema of all sects that they should refrain from delivering burning speeches and respect each others creed and thought for ensuring sectarian harmony in the Province. Some elements were trying their hard to weaken the unity and integrity of the country through nefarious activities Tanveer Kaira said.
The Finance Minister stated that there is no room for terrorism in Islam adding that Islam is the religion of brotherhood, peace and love but some elements were busy in killing the innocent people through terrorist activities, which Islam has forbidden.
Speaking on the occasion Provincial Minister for Jails Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor urged upon the people that they should forge complete unity among the ranks for foiling the evil designs of self-seekers and mischief in their respective areas for the larger national interest. He urged upon the people that they should keep an eye on anti-social elements and suspected persons in their respective areas for weeding out the menace of terrorism.
Earlier the District Police Officer Captain Muhammad Amin (Retd) briefed about the arrangements made for Muharram in sialkot district. District Co-ordination Officer Captain Atta Muhammad Khan (Retd) and government officers and Ulema and religious scholars also attended the meeting.
