Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) has decided to launch a series of protests demonstration against the acute shortage of power and gas and unannounced load shedding from January 9.

As per decision, the industrialists and workers of the Kot Lakhpat Industrial Estate would stage a protest at Hamdard Chowk on January 9 after Juma prayer. The Lahore Township Industrial Area Chairman Baber Mehmood Chaudhry and others will lead the protest.
On January 10, the industrialists of Ferozepure Road Industrial Association would stage protest against unscheduled power and gas load shedding on Freozepure Road. The protest would be led by Chairman Ferozepure Road Industrial Area Association Naseer Butt, former Chairman Adnan Butt and Secretary General Shahid Butt. The industrialists of Kitar Bund Road would stage protest on January 12.
Earlier, addressing the meeting, Iqbal Baig Chugtai said that government would have to announce some relief for the industry as the recent crisis has left a number of industrialists with no option but to close down their units. The economy will not get back on track if a relief package was not announced.
