Students directed to attend classes regularly

With the commencement of the new session for the academic year 2009 at Karachi University, the new entrants have been directed to attend their classes regularly. The University authorities have made it clear that at least 75 percent of attendance must be maintained otherwise, they would not be allowed to appear in the examinations.
The students have also been reminded of the code of conduct that has been devised and is in vogue. Accordingly, those enrolled should wear the identity card of the University while in the campus and maintained the sanctity of this seat of higher learning. They have also been asked to show due respect to the teachers and maintain discipline.
It reminded that improving environment of the university is a collective responsibility and should be treated as such. There should be no chalking at the campus and banners, posters should not be pasted. Possessing or distributing material that hurts the sentiments of others is also banned.
They carrying or display of weapons or firearms is also strictly prohibited and such cases would be dealt with in accordance with the law of the land. They were also reminded that they are bound to accept the decision of the Discipline Committee of the University. The students were also reminded that the residential area at the campus was out of bound for the students.
