08 Jan, 2009

Japan's Ministry of Agriculture bought 11,215 tonnes of feed wheat and 176,320 tonnes of feed barley in a tender under the simultaneous buy and sell (SBS) system that closed on Wednesday, a ministry official said. The volume falls short of its purchase target of 30,000 tonnes of feed wheat and 200,000 tonnes of feed barley announced last month.
Shipments from the US and Canadian west coast, Australia and China are due to be loaded from the time of the agreement to February 10. Supplies loaded from other ports are due from the time of the agreement to January 31.
