Zardari hosts dinner for diplomats

President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday said that Pakistan is against terrorism and extremism and would not allow its soil to be used for terrorist activities. He said this while speaking at a dinner hosted by him in honour of Islamabad-based foreign diplomats, which was also attended by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
A large number of ambassadors from across the world including US, China, UK, Russia, France and India attended the dinner. A number of federal ministers, federal secretaries and senior officials were also present. The President said that Pakistan has rendered numerous sacrifices while combating terrorism and the country is itself a major victim of terrorism.
He made it clear that Pakistan does not like patronage of any terrorist group and would not allow its soil to be used for terror activities. Zardari said that Pakistan strongly condemned the Mumbai terror attacks last year and had immediately offered the Indian government joint investigation to uncover the hands behind this heinous act.
