Wheat smuggling bid foiled

Hattian Police have foiled an attempt to smuggle huge quantity of wheat from Punjab to NWFP and arrested two persons. According to details, on the special directives of DPO Attock, Fakhar Wasal a campaign against wheat smugglers was launched under the supervision of DSP Hazro, Syed Muhammad Akbar Abbas.
Incharge, Hattian police along with a police team barricaded the road and carried out special checking of vehicles particularly that were Peshawar bound. During checking, when a Peshawar bound truck bearing registration number Islamabad-133 was stopped and checked, some 300 mounds of wheat was recovered. Truck driver and his helper was arrested as they could not provide valid documents of wheat transportation. Further investigation is underway.
