The Karachi Port handled 132,014 tonnes of cargo including 90,922 tonnes of import and 41,092 tonnes of export, 736 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The freights comprised of 79,573 tonnes of dry cargo including 34,150 tonnes of general cargo; 6,327 tonnes of wheat; 17,271 tonnes of coal; 7,830 tonnes of scrap; 1,393 tonnes of S B Meal; 12,602 tonnes of cement and 52,441 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Thirteen ships namely Apl Balboa, Cocl Ability, Darya Yog, Hyun Jin Ks 3, Chun He Kou, Quetta, Uni Angel, Saigon Express, Sc Ghoji, BBC Bulgaria, Chalkidon, Estere and Captain Yannis L sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Twelve vessels viz Blida, Mare Doro, Saigon Express, Uni Angel, Cosco Karachi, Shayan 1, BBC Bulgaria, Vinh Hung, Hadrian, Sc Ghoji, Lucky-7 and Addarraq are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Lucky-7 and Global Progress expected to sail on Monday while another four vessels viz Mare Doro, CSAV Lonquimay, Surreal and Shayan 1 are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Four vessels viz Rising Sun, Sima Sahba, Lady Fatimah and Seabulk Challenge due to arrive on Monday while nine ships namely Al-Marwah, Lalazar, North Pole, Apl Yokohama, Deja Bhum, Cape Negro, Ninos, Resolve and African Ibis are due to arrive on Tuesday.
