Film Complex to be set up in the Capital would ensure easy access to information about film stars and celebrities besides maintaining record of old movies. This was stated by Chairman Central Board of Film Censors Barrister Malik Shahnawaz Noon while talking to APP.
A consultation department would be established in the complex, which would maintain record of old movies and detailed profiles of film artists along with providing necessary guidelines to new filmmakers, he informed. CBFC has also planned to launch a website containing detailed information about the film industry. The website would also highlight the showbiz updates.
The CBFC chairman said that meetings with senior film stars and professionals would be organised on regular basis to take their suggestions to revitalise the film industry. To a question about the downfall of the film industry, he said that the ineffective policies of the previous government were responsible for ruining the industry.
The policies of the government not only deprived the people of entertainment opportunities but also took them away from their cultural heritage, he opined. The CBFC had deputed inspection teams in cinema halls of Gujranwala and Faisalabad to register complaints and suggestions of the people. Similarly inspection teams would be deputed in all cities of Punjab. He said that movies could be used as an instrument to eliminate terrorism by projecting Islamic values that condemn the inhumane acts.
