Police directed to curb flour smuggling

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad Amer Ali Ahmed has said that the district administration will ensure availability of food items at the control rate and profiteering tendency will be curbed by regular price checking in the markets and weekly bazaars by the magistrates.
He further told that abundance supply of 20 kg flour bags was being ensured in the markets at the control rate and the vigilance was being enhanced to ensure smooth supply of 20 kg flour bags in the city and rural areas of Islamabad. Magistrates and police officials deployed at the pickets had been directed to keep a strict check at the exit points to check any possibility of illegal movement of 20 kg flour bags to other areas.
Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner City Farasat Ali Khan conducted price checking in the markets and reviewed the arrangements made in connection with smooth availability of 20 kg flour bags in the markets at the control rate.
He also conducted visit of police pickets at different exit points and directed the district food department officials and police to keep a strict watch on the vehicles to check any possible illegal movement of flour bags to other areas. He said that these precautionary measures had been taken to ensure sufficient and smooth availability of flour bags in the city and to ward off any chance of disruption in the supply.
