RPOs directed to appear in LHC with preparation

16 Jan, 2009

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab has directed the regional police officers (RPOs), district police officers (DPOs) and city police officers (CPOs) to appear in the Lahore High Court with full preparation of their cases. The IGP has taken this notice on the LHC remarks that those police officials who appear in the court are not usually prepared and are unable to plead their case very well.
The IGP has exhorted the RPOs, DPOs and CPOs to prepare their cases very well when they appear in the High Court or any other officer appears on their behalf in the court. The IG of Police Punjab has been informed by the LHC further that the police reports are not usually signed by the authorised police officers, the notice of which has been taken seriously.
