PBC employees stage demonstration

Employees of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) have threatened to discontinue the transmissions of Radio Pakistan if their demands were not met within three days. They locked out their offices and staged a demonstration on Thursday in front of Multan Press Club under the leadership of president of United Staff Organisation Akmal Bashir and general secretary Rana Nadeem Akhtar to press the authorities for acceptance of their demands.
They were shouting slogans against Sherry Rehman and demanded its immediate removal, "Down with Sherry," "down with Director General Murtaza Solangi." They demanded immediate addition of 20 percent increase in their salaries as per announcement of federal government, regularisation of all contract as well as daily wages employees and upgradation of employees of Multan Radio Station. They have planned to stage a demonstration on Friday in front of Prime Minister Secretariat in Multan.
