Lawyers hold protest rally

The lawyers as part of their ongoing movement for restoration judges, city lawyers after three weeks' break here on Thursday held protest rally on the Mall. As large number of enthusiastic lawyers with political workers and civil society activists held the combine rally from Aiwan-e-Adal courts to Chairing Cross.
Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and Lahore Bar Association (LBA) after holding their general house meeting while chanting slogans against the government marched on the Mall. A large number of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Tehrik-e-Insaaf, Labour Party, and concerned citizens of Pakistan, holding their respective party flags, also joined the lawyers at GPO chowk. The protesters held a joint protest march towards the Punjab Assembly Building and chanted slogans against the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government and in favour of sacked judges.
Former president SCBA Aitzaz dispelled the impression that lawyers were divided and added all the lawyers were united for restoration of the judges. LBA president Rana Zia Abdul Rehman said newly elected body was committed in spearheading their movement for restoration of the judges and added they would not compromise on principles and continue the movement till its logical end.
