The Governor General of Khorsan Rizvi, Mohammaad Gavad Mohammadizadeh has stressed upon the need of tripartite trade agreement among Pakistan, Iran and China to strengthen trade relations that would benefit all three countries with more effective and useful result.
He said that Pakistan could export its products to Central Asian States including Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakstan by train through Iranian province of Khorsan, while Iran is in good contact with Chinese Muslim province, Sinkiang.
Khorsan Rizvi Governor General, who is heading a 33-member strong delegation comprising leading Iranian investors and officials, was speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday.
While stressing the need for an early restoration of direct flight between Lahore and Mashahd, he said, an active traffic system needs to be developed between the two countries. 'Iran is ready to start direct flights from Mashahd to Lahore,' he said and urged the government of Pakistan to start PIA flights, which were earlier suspended from Pakistan's side.
Mohammadizadeh also said that Pakistani banking system is more active and invited the banks of Pakistan to start their operation in Iran. He said that both Pakistan and Iran have great potential in textile and urged Iranian and Pakistani businessmen to undertake joint efforts to explore common market for their products.
Iran has made tremendous progress in different fields like petrochemical, plastic, energy and gas and thus can offer its co-operation and expertise in these fields. Similarly, Pakistan has significant milk production but could not make progress in dairy development accordingly. Both the countries can undertake joint investment in these sectors, he maintained.
Further, Iran can help in producing coal-based energy, tractor manufacturing, housing construction and sugar industry, he added. Earlier, speaking on the occasion, the LCCI President Mian Muzaffar Ali suggested issuance of Express Cards to the leading businessmen so that they could be able to travel to Iran for business purposes with maximum ease.
