A ceremony was held at Tevta Cutlery and Small Industry Service centre, Tevta Secretariat on completion of machinery work. Tevta Chairman, Mohsin Syed, Secretary, Rafia Nazir, President, Tevta District Board of Management, Gujranwala, Muhammad Naseem, MPA Shaukat Manzoor Cheema from Wazirabad, Chairman, Cutlery Association Wazirabad, Salah-ud-Din and General Manager (F&A), Adnan Zahir attended the ceremony.
According to the details, the project has been completed through an agreement between Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Peoples Republic of China. China has donated funds worth Rs 110 million for revamping and modernisation of Tevta Cutlery and Small Industries Service Centre by installing Hi-Tech Machinery, provision of facilities of Material Testing, advanced Welding and Fabrication, Hi-Frequency Heat Treatment, Machining of Dies and Moulds, Induction and Vacuum Hardening and Plazma Cutting machinery at this centre.
Upgradation of this centre will enhance capacity building of existing workers and teachers. Tevta is now planning to introduce demand driven and market oriented new vocational training courses soon on the latest and high Technology Machines donated by China in consultation with local industry. These machines would only enhance the employability of local workforce.
