The exploration and production activities of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) are in full swing to meet the growing energy demand of the country. OGDCL yielded five crude oil, gas, and condensates discoveries, two each in Hyderabad and Tando Allah Yar, while one in Dera Ghazi Khan during the corresponding financial year, officials sources told APP.
Moolan Well-I was discovered in Hyderabad and tested for producing 64 barrels per day (bpd) of condensate and 4.4 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) gas from zone-I and 165bpd of condensate besides, 6.02mmcfd of gas from Zone-II.
The second discovery, Pasahki East Well-1, located in Tando Allah Yar has the capacity of producing 155 barrels per day (bpd) of condensate and 10.7 mmcfd gas.
Moolan North Well-I, third discovery in the row, was in Lashari, Hyderabad has a production capacity of 1150bpd crude oil. The fourth successful drill, Pakhro Well-1, was made in Tando
Allah Yar and found capable of producing 8.25 mmcfd of gas and 9 bpd of condensate. While, the fifth discovery, Dhodak Deep Well-I was in Dhodak mining lease in Dera Ghazi Khan, can produce 5.5 mmcfd of gas. Subsequently, OGDCL made another gas and condensate discovery at Kunnar South-1. This well was located in Tando Allah Yar and can produce 11mmcfd of gas and 200bpd of condensate. The other ongoing and future development projects include: Uch-II Development, Qadirpur Gas Field Capacity Enhancement and Compression, Dakhni Expansion Project, Tando Allah Yar Development Project, Sinjhoro Development Project, Kunnar and Pasahki Deep Development Project, Sara West Development Project and Jhal Magsi Project.
The OGDC, being a national exploration and production company, possesses its hydrocarbon reserves base in all four province of the country. 'OGDCL is proud of its underground hydrocarbon reserves and its ability to bring these reserves on stream,' the sources added.
They said that OGDCL's reserve replacement ratio is more than 100 percent for the last four years, indicating growth of the company through its extensive and accelerated exploration and production activities. During the year, OGDCL's daily production of crude oil, gas, LPG and sulphur averaged 43,434 barrels, 976 mmcf, 339 MT and 72 MT respectively.
