Rs 540 million for free dialysis treatment in government hospitals

Punjab government on the directive of the chief minister has spent Rs 540 million for provision of dialysis machines and free dialysis facility to kidney patients in tehsil and district hospitals. This was told by MPA Shagufta Sheikh, PML-N leader and member health monitoring committee while talking to patients at the dialysis centre of DHQ hospital here.
Accompanied by Dr Shafiq Rana, Shagufta enquired from the patients regarding the services being provided to them by the hospital, and was satisfied by their response. She said the government is aware that dialysis is an expensive treatment, and has ensured that needy kidney patients are provided the treatment free of cost at the local level.
