Mother dies wishing to meet her daughter in AJK

Hamida Begum's last wish to meet her daughter, married in Azad Jammu and Kashmir 30 years back, remained unfulfilled as she breathed her last on Friday in occupied Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service Hamida, wife of Abdul Hai Khateeb of Bhaderwah town in Doda district, tried for the visa many times but she was not allowed by the Indian authorities to travel to meet her daughter Nusrat Banoo in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Khateeb family had last seen Nusrat on the day of marriage 30 years back. Hamida had first applied for visa 20 years ago, but she was denied. Later, her passport was also seized. Her relatives said that she was not even authorised to travel for Haj. "She requested the authorities several times to return her passport, but to no avail and breathed her last along with the wish," they said.
