'Talented students being encouraged by awarding cash prizes'

The present Punjab Government, under the visionary leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, has introduced revolutionary policies in education sector under which talented students are being encouraged by awarding them attractive cash prizes besides strengthening the education department.
This was stated by Punjab Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs Rana Sana Ullah Khan while addressing as chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony held at Divisional Model College Auditorium here on Tuesday. Cash prizes of Rs 2 million were distributed among the position holders of essay writings, speech and debates competitions under Chief Minister's Talent Programme.
The Minister said that the Punjab Chief Minister had strong determination to change the plight of the nation for which revolutionary education policies were being followed in order to equip the new generation with advance knowledge and technology. He lauded the Chief Minister Talented Programme and said it would help in exploiting student's hidden intellect and mental qualities.
The Minister said that the Punjab Government had established an Endowment Fund worth Rs 2 billion to facilitate the poor talented students for their education even if they desire to get advance education from the abroad. He said the talented students of backward remote areas would specially focus to provide them financial assistance for higher education. He said that Punjab Chief Minister had set a new marvellous traditions of awarding cash prizes worth million of rupees to the top position holders students of Metric, Intermediate and Degree classes which was open proof of knowledge friendly policies of Punjab Chief Minister.
The Minister congratulated the position holders of Essay Writings, Speech and Debates competitions of Primary to Degree Classes and advised them to utilise their knowledge, capabilities and intellect qualities for the services of the nation.
Earlier, Chairman Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Professor Inwarul Haq informed that Markaz, Tehsil, District and Division level competitions from Primary to Degree level classes in Faisalabad Division had been conducted successfully and cash prizes of Rs 11.50 million were being distributed among the position holders. He appreciated the Chief Minister's Talented Programme and education policies of present Punjab Government for the uplift of the education sector.
MPAs Kh. Muhammad Islam and Khalid Tahir Sindhu also spoke on the occasion and said it was the credit of Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif who conceived talent programme and introducing the exemplary policies to raise the literacy rate and promotion of knowledge.
Former MNA Mian Abdul Manan, DO Colleges Professor Saifur Rehman, focal person for Chief Minister's Professor Khalid Hassan, Principal DMC Professor Saleem Raza, Head of various Colleges and Schools, teachers, parents and students were present among others on the occasion.
