On the direction of Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif, special steps have been taken on Tuesday for smooth supply of urea fertiliser to the farmers on subsidised rates in the district. DCO Saeed Wahla stated this while chairing a meeting held to devise the strategy of urea supply to sthe growers.
The DCO said that the urea fertiliser bag would be sold to the farmers at Rs 670 and subsidy of Rs 30 would be provided on each bag under the direction of Punjab Government for which Rs 1 million has been allocated for Faisalabad district. He said that a committee would monitor the process of supplying urea fertiliser to the farmers under subsidised rate and would ensure its smooth, easy and timely supply.
He also asked the committee to check day to day sale of urea fertiliser. Also report with the details of the name of registered dealers, position of received and sale of urea bags, name of purchasers with their CNIC number and mobile numbers should also be provided daily to the DCO office.
DCO directed the concerned department to ensure the transparent supply of urea to the growers and a comprehensive and effective mechanism should be adopted in this regard. MPA Kh. Muhammad Islam, EDO (Retd) Malik Muhammad Aslam, EDO Agriculture Rao Farman Ali, Additional SP Babar Sarfraz, Farmer's Abdul Hafeez attended the meeting among others.
