All the appointments made in Provincial Revenue Department after February 18, 2008 general elections were not mala-fide and the Minister for Revenue, Habib-ur-Rehman Tanoli has asked all concerned in the department to ensure transparency in the revenue collection system and display the relevant information outside their offices for public convenience.
These directives were issued during a high level meeting of Revenue department, chaired by NWFP Minister for Revenue, Habib-ur-Rehman Tanoli here on Tuesday. The meeting was attended among others by senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR), Ihsanullah Khan, Secretary Mubashir Hussain, Secretary-II, Ajmal Bhatti, Director Land Record, Khan Baksh and other concerned.
The meeting exempted 10 marla plots meant for residential purposes within the municipal limits of major cities from capital value tax and Patwaris were asked not to receive revenue related dues on behalf of any department etc adding that it should be directly deposited by the buyer himself in the government treasury. The meeting decided in principle to revive and further functional the Numberdari system relating to revenue department for effective collection of govt. dues in the province. The meeting also discussed settlement process at Chitral District, sought for more details in this respect and decided to make all appointments of staff working in Chitral on regular basis as permanent.
