23 Jan, 2009

The Central General Secretary of the Jamhoori Wattan Party (JWP) (AALI), Abdul Rauf Khan Sasooli said that his party is not against development projects in the province but it would be in the interest of the people of the Balochistan that these project should not destroy their culture and traditions.
Sasooli was addressing a press conference along with the party's Central Information Secretary, Darehan Khan Bugti on Thursay. He demanded that the rate of royalty of the Sui gas given to the province should be equal to that given to Punjab and Sindh.
He also demanded that mega projects like Gawadar port, Saindak and Recodec should be operated with the consultation of the people of the province as being a unit of the federation, they deserve equal rights. Further, 'The people of Balochistan voted in favour of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Awami National Party (ANP) but they have failed to come up to the expectations of the people of the province,' he said.
These parties should start consultation with all the parties of Balochistan including the nationalist parties for the progress of the province, he added. Further, the He appreciated the efforts of the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif for bridging the gap between the small and a bigger province by announcing developmental projects for Balochistan.
The Jamhoori Wattan leader further said that worse democratic government is better than dictatorship and that is why the law and order situation is a little bit better than what it was during Musharraf's government. To a question he said that India was involved in creating the law and order situation in Balochistan. India is our enemy and Indian agents were present not only in Balochistan but, in all the provinces, he added.
