'Nothing but quality education best investment'

Former Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Federal Minister Dr Atta-ur-Rehman has said that the quality education is the best investment and no other investment gives better return than this investment. Atta was addressing the opening ceremony of two-day 5th "International conference on Statistical Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics and Applications" organised by The Islamic Society of Statistical Sciences (Isoss) in collaboration with National College of Business Administration and Economics (NCBA&E) on Friday.
He also said that government should support higher education and provide funds to the education sector because solution of our problems lies in imparting quality education. He said that as Chairman of the HEC he focused on the faculty development. He said that during his tenure 4,000 students have been sent to foreign universities for higher education and now they were coming back to the country.
He also said that focus of the educational institutions should be on faculty development because the faculty of the institution is judged by the quality articles published in research journals of international repute.
Researchers from Turkey, Iran, Canada, America, Taiwan, South Africa will present their papers in this two-day international conference besides 190 Pakistani researchers will also read their papers in this conference. Chairman NCBA&E and former federal Minister Mian Shamim Haider, Rector NCBA&E and Founding President and Patron Issos also spoke on the occasion.
