2,000 contract teachers being recruited in Attock

More than 2,000 teachers would be appointed against vacant seats of arts, science and computer science in government schools in Attock. The process of recruitment that included 2024 males and 663 females, has been started, the Education Department's sources said.
All the teachers would be inducted on merit as per the strict orders of Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, and except two percent quota for disabled, no other quota had been allocated to any MNA, MPA, the sources added.
The information about all the candidates would be computerised under the strict supervision of District Monitoring Officer and for the purpose special computer cell had been set up.
The process would be strictly monitored by District Co-ordination Officer Attock (Capt) Saqib Zafar. At present there are 1369 schools in different areas of Attock district where more than two million students are enrolled. On the other hand some of the candidates for teaching posts have shown reservations over the maximum age limit which has been set at 35 years with out any relaxation.
