Government should restore judges before long march: PML-N

26 Jan, 2009

PML-N Central Secretary Finance and former MNA, Muhammad Pervez Malik has said that Mian Nawaz Sharif, like every Pakistani, wants the rule of law, supremacy of constitution, independence of judiciary and restoration of conscientious judges.
Speaking at a party meeting on Sunday, he said, 'It is our democratic right to pin point faults in policies of the federal government.' He further said that these measures are aimed at saving the country and bringing rulers on the right track.
Malik said people voted in favour of democratic forces for implementations of Charter of Democracy (CoD) but PPP leaders by not honouring promises, have weakened democracy and disappointed people.
Further, he said that dejected and deprived people couldn't be stopped from participating in the long march, as they are ready to offer any sacrifice for the independence of judiciary and secure their rights.
The PML-N leader also said that rulers, instead of getting baffled over long march, should restore all deposed judges and return powers of the parliament before staging of 'Long March" on March 9.
