Cold wave grips northern Balochistan

Most parts of the northern Balochistan including provincial capital received snowfall following torrential rain on early Sunday. The inclement weather followed by howling winds after the snowfall worsened the living conditions in northern Balochistan including Ziarat, Pishin, Kan Mehtarzai, Khanozai and Quetta.
Widespread rain caused damages to clay-built houses and agricultural land in Kuchlak, Soorab, Nokkundi, Panjgur, Sibi and other southern parts of the province, reports said. Intermittent rain, which started in almost all parts of Balochistan on Saturday, continued on Sunday. Quetta received 25mm rain during the last 24 hours.
Further, the rain exposed poor sanitation system in the provincial capital and all main roads including Jinnah Road, Mission Road, Meezan Chawk, Prince Road and Imdad Chawk, which were inundated with accumulation of water caused difficulties for the pedestrians in chilly weather and affected the traffic movement in the city.
The Regional Met office forecast that clear weather would prevail in most parts of Balochistan including quake-stricken areas and the provincial capital during the next 24 hours.
