Naheed and Safdar Abbasi demand implementation of CoD

Naheed Khan senior leader of the PPP and close associate of late Benazir Bhutto and her husband Senator Safdar Abbasi have demanded to implement Charter of Democracy and reinstate Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry as Chief Justice of Pakistan.
Addressing a press conference at residence of party activist Zia Ullah Bangash here on Sunday Naheed Khan said that it was in the interest of the masses and parliament that Charter of Democracy was implemented. She said Benazir Bhutto had made the Charter of democracy, integral part of the manifesto of the Party and said its implementation was mandatory.
Talking of balance between powers of the President and the Prime Minister, she said it was necessary that it existed. She said it was vital that links were strengthened between the Party and the workers. Senator Safdar Abbasi on the occasion said that to defuse imbalance in the political system, it was necessary that Chief Justice Ifthikar Muhammad Chaudhry be reinstated.
He said lawyers had gone into a long struggle for reinstatement of judiciary and Benazir Bhutto believed in independent judiciary.
He said it was in the interest of the Party that the Chief Justice be reinstated in the Country. The PPP leader said that delay in the investigation of murder of Benazir Bhutto was injurious to the Party. He said it was vital that worker of the Party was strengthened as it was in the interest of the party, he added.
