International literary conference in April: Zaman

Fakhar Zaman, Chairman Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) said on Tuesday that PAL will arrange an International Literary Conference on "Sufi-ism and Peace" in April 2009.
While talking to a group of journalists on Tuesday, Fakhar Zaman said that in 1995 PAL organised a grand international literary conference which was inaugurated by Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed which was a unique event in the world of literature, attended by 400 hundred delegates from 100 countries. He said that in December 2008 PAL again held a National Conference which has been appreciated by writers and intellectuals from all over the country.
Fakhar Zaman hoped that the coming event will be bigger than the one held in 1995. Talking about future plan Fakhar Zaman said that PAL will hold a "Sindh Writers Conference" in Karachi on 1st February 2009.
The conference will be inaugurated by Ishrat-ul-Ebad, Governor of Sindh, while the concluding session will be chaired by Qaim Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh, he added. Giving details of PAL's future activities, he said that more literary conferences will be held in all provinces of Pakistan.
"Balochistan Writers Conference" on 5th March 2009 at Quetta, "Punjab Writers Conference" on 14th March 2009 at Lahore and "NWFP Writers Conference" on 28th March 2009 at Peshawar. He further said that in the first half of April "Northern Areas and Azad Jammu Kashmir Writers Conference" will be held.
