President Asif Ali Zardari conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) on Admiral Noman Bashir, Chief of the Naval Staff, at a special investiture ceremony at the Aiwan e Sadr on Tuesday in recognition of his services. The citation read out on the occasion noted that the award has been conferred "in recognition of his long meritorious service".
Admiral Noman Bashir thanked the President for the prestigious award. Minister for Foreign Affairs Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Minister of State for Defence Arbab Muhammad Zahir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Tariq Majid, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mehmood Ahmed and other military officials were also present on this occasion.
