Farmers of Faisalabad and Toba Tek Singh districts have protested over the continuous closure of water in Jhang Branch Canal. Addressing a protest meeting near Toba Tek Singh, the farmers leaders said that under Warabani schedule programme the said canal was closed from 1st January to 14 but after a lapse of another 12 days, even then water supply had not been restored in the canal.
As a result the wheat and fodder crops of the growers will be destroyed due to non-irrigation. They demanded of the chief minister to take notice of the irregularity of irrigation department.
